Q1 Reading Goals Check-in

Good morning everyone! I hope you’re doing well. Today I’m going to be getting into my reading goals for 2020 and let you all know how I’m doing with them.

Spoiler alert: not that great.

So let’s just get into this so I can see how I’m doing and be shamed until the end of time! Just kidding. I’m not ashamed of where I am, just know that.

So, like I said, I’m not ashamed of where I am. I love setting goals even though I know, for the most part, I’m not going to complete them. I like to push myself to see what I can accomplish. To be honest, without goals, I generally can’t find the motivation to do anything. That’s why I continue to set them along with TBRs.

In January, I set 10 goals.

We’re just going to go through them and I’ll let you know how I’m doing with them, whether I give an exact number or just a general idea.

Read 10 Author’s Complete Works

So, I haven’t actually completed any of these. I have a few authors in mind that I would like to do this with, so I’ll let you all know who they are. They are all authors I’ve read before.

Some author’s I want to use for this are JA Low, Kasie West, Lizzy Charles, Marissa Meyer, Renee Ahdieh, Sabaa Tahir, and a few more.

Technically I have read all of Tricia Levenseller’s. So I could technically count her! Ooooh.

Read 10 New To Me Authors

I haven’t actually updated this one. I don’t want to include romance authors because I tend to read such a variety of them. I also want to make sure I read more than one of their books this year.

I’ve read a couple new to me authors but I’m not going to count them in this until I read another of their works, unless they were a debut with the book I read and have nothing else out. But I’ll have to go look more into their works before I officially decide on that.

Finish 10 Series

Should I even answer this one? I mean, I finished Queen of Nothing at the beginning of the year, but I’m not going to count that because I read most of it in 2019.

Read 50 Books From My TBR Before 2020

This only refers to my physical TBR, though, so I’ve only read 8 of these. Readathin is happening in May, so I will hopefully get to more of my TBR books!

Romanceopoly – Sun

Literally sucking at this. I’ve only completed one challenge. But I’m hoping to finish more this month. But as of April 1st, I’ve only finished 1 book for it.

Linz the Bookworm 2020 Reading Challenge

Find the full list of challenges here.

I’ve finished 15 of these challenges! Which isn’t bad at all, I’d say.

2020 Pop Sugar Challenge

11 of these are completed! Which again, I’m happy with.

A to Z Reading Challenge

The only letters that I have left are E, H, I, K, L, M, O, P, R, U, X, Y, Z.

Read 100 Books

I had read 25 books by the end of March! So I was technically right on where I was supposed to be.

But that’s it for this one! I don’t really have much else to say. There are some challenges I need to work on improving on and other’s I’m doing good with as I am. There are some that I’m further in now that we’re a couple weeks into April. But that’s all okay.

Let me know how you’re doing with your goals, if you set any. If not, how has your reading been?

I’ll see you all soon. Stay happy and healthy.

    1. I keep telling myself the same thing until my Q3 wrap up and then I know I won’t complete any challenges 😂 But I’m hoping this year is different since I’m starting the year pretty strong. But I’ll definitely go read your post when I’m done responding to comments!

      1. I believe you can! And if you fall behind, you’ll catch up. But always keep in mind that if you don’t complete the challenges, you made an effort to focus on these books which is something you wanted to do and weren’t doing before.
