The Sims Book Tag | #TagTuesday

Good morning everyone! I hope you all are doing well on this lovely Tuesday morning. Anyone who has returned to work (or has been continuing to work throughout this whole thing) remember to stay safe, wash your hands, and keep your distance.

That being said, today I’m going to be doing a book tag based on my most recent obsession during this quarantine and that is: Sims 4.

Let’s get right into this because it’s going to be a fun one.

This book tag was originally created by Hailey in Bookland back in 2016! Back then she was still HailsHeartsNYC. Talk about a throwback! This was around this time that I originally found her channel and back when I was religiously watching Booktube.

But things have changed and I’m behind on the game. Literally. I’m just now getting into it. But I’m obsessed and that’s what matters. Let’s do this tag! Check out Hailey’s video below!

The Original Sims: Best Author Debut

For this, I’m going to have to go with the one and only Angie Thomas. She demolished the bestseller list with The Hate U Give and I don’t think any author, no matter how much you love their book, is going to do what she did.

And speaking of throwbacks, look at this photo! Oh my gosh. I was a red head! That’s certainly a throwback. I also don’t know where that infinity ring went (I’m extremely mad about it), I have a different wedding ring set, and I don’t have those shelves anymore! All of the changes!

The Grim Reaper: The Saddest Character Death

Oh man. Gonna hit right there with the spoilers, huh. I’m not going to spoil who, but I’ll just show you all the book. Just know, I cried my eyes out.

Sims Getting Stuck: A Character That Just Got in the Way

Oh my gosh. The first one that came to mind was Mal. Obviously The Darkling is crap and what not, but I still liked him more than Mal. So, I’d say Mal (even though he was kinda important in some way that I don’t care about).

(And I don’t think I have any pictures of just the Shadow and Bone trilogy, so here’s Six of Crows featuring an adorable bookmark from BibliophilePrints who I’m an affiliate for!)

Simlish: A Book With Amazing Writing

There’s just something about this book that sucked me in and even after I finished it, I was stuck. Oh wait. That something is that it’s amazing. Go read it.

Expansion Packs: A Series Where the Books Kept Getting Better

Definitely My Hero Academia. From volume one, which was okay, all the way to volume six, which is where I left off and the one I loved, it’s just gotten so much better. I’ve been sucked into this story and care for these characters in a way I never expected to. And that’s after me expecting to love them.

Sims Romance: The Worst Case of Insta-Love

Oh man. Umm. This was a tough one for me.

I’d probably have to go with this one. It just escalated really quick and in a way that I didn’t enjoy.

Cheats: A Book That Was Entirely Unrealistic

I mean all fantasies? I’d have to say The Distance Between Us, though. Not that this book was bad, necessarily. I just feel like there’s not really any way the “plot twist” would have been a thing. I feel like it just seemed a bit unrealistic that we were expected that to be the case.

Needs Fulfillment: A Character Who Made All the Wrong Decisions

I didn’t realize how negative this tag was. There’s a lot of just negative energy in these questions. But for this one, I’m going to have to go with Scavenge the Stars. Not necessarily that there were A LOT of bad decisions, but the main one was trusting the wrong people. I never trust anyone in books. It helps me to be right if the bad guy is really the bad guy. But then I find myself trusting the bad guy sometimes and I know that it’s going to end in heartbreak for me when the bad guy really is bad. But that’s off topic. The trusting the wrong people thing happens a lot in YA fantasy, I’ve realized.

Error Code 12: A Series That Started Off Great, But Went Downhill From There

I don’t know if I have a photo and I’m not going to look, but anything Sarah J Maas. I loved the start of A Court of Thorns and Roses, but by the time I got to A Court of Wings and Ruin, it was just bad. ACOMAF was fantasy. But ACOWAR was hot garbage and I haven’t even read ACOFAS yet.

Throne of Glass started out pretty good. I was invested. But gradually I lost interest in the story and the characters. So that too.

The Sims Vortex: A Book/Series That Completely Engrossed you

I said it in my wrap up. This book literally sucked me in and I didn’t even realize it until I had finished the book. In one sitting. That almost never happens. It certainly never happens for audiobooks.

Who Do You Tag?

I tag Donna from Mom’s Book Collection. If you don’t know who that is, go check her out. I love Donna and I know she loves Sims. So if she hasn’t done this tag yet, she needs to!

That’s going to be it for this one! I hope you all enjoyed this tag and if you haven’t done it then make sure you do! Also, don’t forget to comment down below answering this question:

What’s a book or series that you were totally engrossed in?

Thanks so much for joining me! I will definitely see you all soon. Make sure you all stay happy and healthy during this time and beyond. See you all in the next one and until then, let’s chat in the comments or on social media!
