Weekly Update | June 1-7

Good morning everyone. I hope you’re all doing well. I was debating doing this blog post specifically because it’s going up a lot later than I normally would have these going up. But that’s okay. I decided to do it anyway, even though there isn’t going to be too much information in it because I haven’t really been reading.

But let’s just get into it anyway!

Alright everyone. So I only finished one book during the week of the 1-7th. I am doing better this week, but not that much better.

As we all know, times are really tough right now on everyone mentally. Between COVID-19 and all the havoc that’s caused and the BLM protests and fight against racism and police brutality, we’ve all had a lot going on. So reading hasn’t really been at the forefront of my mind and I’ve been struggling to get into anything.

I’m trying to share different ways to support the movement and black people in society. As always, click here for resources to help support by donating, signing, and speaking out (the previous link I’ve been sharing is not working for some people so the link I used this time is for the Linktree resources).

But, also, check out this list of 30+ Black-Owned Coffee & Tea Shops! You know I love me some coffee, so I’m really looking forward to checking out some of these shops and switching who I’m currently using. A lot of these coffee shops are based in certain cities, but make sure if you’re heading into any of them, you are checking them out!

As for the single book I finished during this week, that was Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi. My review for this book is not yet up on my Instagram, so I will link the photo to my Goodreads review. Just know that I adored this book and can’t wait for the next one!

But, just because I didn’t finish anything else, doesn’t mean I haven’t been reading. These are the books that I ended the week still reading.

So, I would like to finish You Should See Me in a Crown and None of the Above. But based on how my listening of Becoming was going, it’s probably going to take me a lot longer to get through that.

Other books I’d like to finish this week are as follows:

So that’s really it. I have gotten behind on all of my ARCs, but I decided to start with the oldest most recent (lols) and work forward. Either way, I hope to make progress in My Hero Academia and at least start the other two I mentioned.

Let me know in the comments what books you plan on reading this weekend!

Thanks so much for joining me and I hope you all enjoyed. I’ll see you all very soon. Have a wonderful day. Keep sharing. Keep donating. Keep signing. Keep protesting. Keep fighting.
