Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag

Good morning everyone! I hope you’re doing well. Today I’m going to be doing the Mid-Year Freak Out Tag. It’s mid-year and I’m going to have a few posts going up this month looking at different mid-year check in kinds of things.

But to start things out, we’ll just be doing the Mid-Year Freak Out Tag.

So, let’s do just that.

Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2020

Is anyone surprised that I chose this one? It was just my favorite. I loved this book so much.

Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2020

I absolutely loved this sequel. Like, if a book can make me cry for 1/3 of the book, then yup! It’s definitely one that I’ve enjoyed.

New Release You Haven’t Read Yet But Want To

I have said before that I don’t know what this is about, but I’m just so excited for it. There’s something about it that’s calling my name and I just need to get to it.

Most Anticipated Release for the Second Half of the Year

I am so freaking excited about Kerri Maniscalco’s next book. THis isn’t part of the Stalking Jack the Ripper series, so I’m really interested!

Biggest Disappointment

I remember really enjoying Dark Lover, the first book in this series, but I just hated this one. I was really sad that I didn’t enjoy it. I was hoping to continue the series, but after reading this one, I doubt I’ll like any of the other ones.

Biggest Surprise

So, I’m not a fan of detective following thrillers. I don’t really enjoy them. But I really enjoyed this one! And I was honestly really surprised by that.

Favorite New Author

So, I don’t want to say that Jen DeLuca is a favorite author, but the fact I have loved the only book that I read by them is definitely a good sign. There are other authors that I have felt this way with, but I figured I’d mention one of the first.

Newest Fictional Crush

Red in this book was just *chef’s kiss.* This book was just so wonderful. There have been so many crushes added to my list, but this was the first that popped up in my mind.

Newest Favorite Characters

So, like 80% of the characters are just so freaking wonderful. I love them all so much.

Book That Made You Cry

This freaking book. I just don’t have words. I can’t wait to keep reading.

Book That Made You Happy

This book came to me at the perfect time. I was in such a mood for a nice f/f romance and I got that with this book. It just hit me in a different way.

Favorite Book to Film Adaptation

Uhhhh. I think this is the same every year. I don’t really watch adaptations. But I did end up watching Love Alarm that I believe is based on a Webtoon! And I’m so upset that season 2 isn’t out yet. Ugh. I need more!

Favorite Post You Have Done This Year

Um. Probably my review for The Shadows Between Us. I think it’s one of my favorite reviews and one of my favorite posts. I’m sure there are more, but that’s the one that sticks out in my mind.

Most Beautiful Book You’ve Bought This Year

Okay. I’m talking about it again. I can’t help myself!!!

What Book Do You Need To Read By The End of the Year

I really want to get to this one as soon as I can. But we’ll see.

And that’s going to be it for this one! I hope you all enjoyed this post.

I also hope that you’ll follow me (I’m almost to 600 on here which is just amazing!!!) and stick around for some more posts. I will definitely be posting more (except not my wrap up because I hate them and I don’t want to write it!). But I’ll definitely have more coming out.

Thanks so much and, as I’ve said, I’ll see you all soon!

YYYEES! An Ember in the Ashes is FANTASTIC! You made me want to read The Shadow Between Us, I haven’t heard much about it but from what I’ve read on Goodreads it really sounds like a book I would really like! You Should See in a Crown, A Song of Wraiths and Ruins and Get a Life, Chloe Brown are also on my TBR!

    • I highly recommend Chloe Brown! And if you don’t mind listening to some in depth sexy time scenes being read to you, the audiobook was wonderful! I’m listening to Take a Hint, Dani Brown and LOVING IT! I’m so glad that I got you wanting to read The Shadows Between Us. It was so good!!

  2. Aaah so many great titles! Most of the books you’ve featured are on my TBR and I’m very excited to read them. I’m especially looking forward to The Shadows Between Us, and since you’ve mentioned it twice in this tag, I’ve got great hopes for that one hehe. Although I haven’t read the manga for My Hero Academia, I agree that the characters are very all wonderful! 💗

    • I ended up watching one whole story arc of My Hero Academia when my anxiety was out of whack while house sitting for my mom last year. Needless to say, I knew I needed to start at the beginning. I decided to read the manga first though. I’ve been watching slightly behind where I am in the manga and I have to say that the story arc I watched is such a different experience now that I know everyone and most of their stories.
