Weekly Update: June 1st-6th, 2021

Hey everyone! Let’s talk about how my week went last week and my plans for this week!

So, to start this out, I’m going to say that I didn’t do much last week. I streamed every day so that took up a good chunk of my time and I didn’t get much reading done outside of that. I’m thinking about bringing back motivation sprints to my streams, but I haven’t fully decided whether I want to or not. But that would mean I would take 30 minutes before stream and focus on just reading.

I think that would really help me and while I was trying to do it that way on my own, I just never was able to. So I think setting it up so I “have” to will help me to actually do it. But other than that, I need to start prioritizing reading and watching at the end of the day rather than endless scrolling or whatever else I do.

Okay, I kind of lied. I did finish something this past week. I finished reading the webtoon, My Dear Cold-Blooded King by Lifelight. This is a historical romance that, while not necessarily “accurate,” was so much fun to read. It was hilarious, heartwarming, tearjerking, and just overall a great time.

I will say now, triggers for rape, sexual assault, violence, incest, child abuse, death, and more. Just be careful going into this story, it does touch on a lot of stuff that will be hard for some readers to read.

But I absolutely loved it and I highly recommend anyone who wants to read it, to go read it now. It’s going to become a daily pass series on June 25th, so you’ll only be able to read an episode a day for free after that date.

As for my plans for this week, I would love to be able to finish reading Scandal of the Season by Liana LeFey and One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston. I’ve been working on them for a couple weeks now and I just need to finish them up. I will say I’m enjoying both of them, but I’m still working my way out of this slump, so it’s taking me a bit to get back into the flow of reading a lot again.

Another couple books I would like to read this week are Geekerella by Ashley Poston and Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld. I started listening to Afterworlds last week but I didn’t make it too far into it. I would like to continue listening and working on my diamond painting.

As for watching things, I really want to finish Start-Up this week. And I think I’ll make my son watch Soul with me tonight, actually. I may watch another of the movies on my list this week as well, but we’ll see.

Anything else that I plan on doing this week will be streaming and that’s really it. I know this post wasn’t my most extravagent, but that’s okay. I wanted to get this out because it’s already later than it should have been.

Thank you all for reading this and make sure to comment with whatever you plan on doing this week!
