2021 Look Back…. So Far…

Hey everyone! Let’s take a look back at how my year has been so far since I haven’t really been around here. So, let’s catch up!

I hope you all are doing well. Sorry this post is going up so late in the day! Definitely make sure to comment below and let me know what your year has been like!

While this year has certainly not been perfect, I really want to focus on a lot of the good things I’ve been getting into. We’ll briefly go over what I want to improve on in the second half of the year, but there will be a post going out soon about the things I want to get back into doing this summer. A lot of the posts going out this month are about things I want to do this summer. By the time they are all out, I will hopefully be working on some of them.

But anyway, let’s talk about the past before looking forward.

Okay, let’s get this elephant out of the room while we’re here. My reading hasn’t been great this year, but I’m also happy with where I am, if that makes any sense.

So, so far this year (as of today) I have read 20 books out of my goal of 100. According to StoryGraph, I’m 22 books behind on my goal. But I also have read 20 books over 5 months WHILE in a slump. So I’m pretty happy with that. But I do hope to work on catching up to my goal. If I can get even 50 read this year, I’ll be happy, even if it’s not hitting my goal.

I’ve been in a massive slump all year. I’ve spent the beginning and middle of months not reading a word, but then I finish like 4 books at the end of the month. I’m trying to use June as a way to get out of that. And that’s one of the things I want to get back into doing this summer (there’s more to it and you’ll hear more in that post).

Here’s a look at my reading so far this month (note that this isn’t every book I’ve read this year. I don’t usually count graphic novels on here).

Honestly, the only other thing I really did this year was that I started streaming over on Twitch. That really has taken up a lot of my time and I’m LOVING every second of it. It’s definitely a lot, but I love doing it. I would say I’m a variety streamer, but I’ve been an Animal Crossing main lately because I’m just LOVING it again.

I have such an amazing community and it blows me away with how supportive they all are. I couldn’t imagine having a better community and I would love for you to join me.

That being said, I do try to raise money every month for different charities. I started this last month and I plan to continue doing it. This month’s charity is The Trevor Project. For more information you can come hang out and use one of the commands (that way I don’t make this post extremely long) and it’s also on my Discord as well!

So please make sure that you’re a part of the Discord. That’s honestly where most of my updates are going to be. Whether that be for streaming or reading or whatever. I’ve been trying to do reading sprints in there as well. So there’s lots going on and I do hope that you all can come hang out.

But that’s going to be it really for this one. Just know that I started streaming and I love it and that I’ve been meh about reading. I will be posting (tomorrow hopefully) about some things that I would like to get back into doing this Summer. So make sure you’re following to be notified of that.

Thanks so much for hanging out and I’ll see you all again soon.

    1. I’m definitely happy with where my reading is, especially since my reading hasn’t been that great compared to previous years. But I’m happy with where I am. Can’t wait to see the stats grow as I get back into reading more!
