First Ever Weekathin TBR!

Good morning everyone! Today is the start of Weekathin! So I figured today would be a wonderful time to sit back and talk about the books I would like to read this week. This is not going to include the books I would like to read for the 24hr, but it will include the books I want to finish before then.

So, if you don’t know what Weekathin is, it’s just a week long Readathin. We shared the announcements on Twitter, Discord, and our personal Instagrams, but I’ll be listing the 3 challenges here as well.

You can join my Discord by clicking here and come chat about the books your reading and more!

Read a book you planned to read last month but didn’t get to

This challenge was definitely for me. I didn’t get to well, any of the the books I wanted to read last month, so I’m excited to get to at least one of them now. The one I chose for this challenge was One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston. Okay, I’m kinda cheating with this one since I’m going into the week having already read 47% of it, but that’s okay.

This is a romance between two ladies in New York City when they meet on the subway. It follows one character’s point of view as she meets this other woman and begins to develop a crush on her. So far it’s really cute and that’s where I’m going to leave the synopsis. If you haven’t read the synopsis, I say don’t read it and go in blind. Just know that it won’t be your “average” romance. I absolutely have loved the twists and can’t wait to see where else it goes.

I am hopefully going to be doing a review for this book on here soon so make sure you keep an eye out for that.

Read a book with light blue on the cover

For this challenge, I’m going to be reading Geekerella by Ashley Poston. This book is a gorgeous purple color and the author’s name is in light blue. But that’s not why I’m count it, though honestly if you want to read a book with that tiny amount, go for it. I’m counting it because under the dust jacket, it’s a BEAUTIFUL light blue. So it definitely counts. Plus, it’s the next book on my bookish bingo, so that’s a plus as well.

This book is a Cinderella retelling that follows a girl who used to watch an old sci-fi show with her dad all the time before he passed away. Now the show is being reboot and the main character is being played by someone that she doesn’t feel is a good fit for the role. She ends up entering a cosplay contest to not only meet this actor but also go to a huge convention’s cosplay ball.

I think this is going to be the perfect little nerdy romance and I can’t wait. I feel like my synopsis may be a bit off, so don’t come for me about that. I swear I remember people saying she doesn’t want him in the role even though the synopsis itself doesn’t actually mention that at all. So take that part with a grain of salt.

Watch a movie or tv show

There are so many different ones to choose from for me. But I’m going to say that I will be finishing Start-Up (which I mentioned in my weekly update post from a couple days ago) and Lucifer. I would really like to take this week to focus on reading, but I am also going to allow myself a break to watch some stuff.

There are more things that I would like to read and watch this week, but I’m not going to get into them here. Keep an eye out tomorrow for my weekly update post to see how my reading went for the last week and what else I hope to read/watch this week!

Thank you all so much for joining me and I hope to see you all very soon. Let me know what you hope to read this week! Have a lovely day!
